Balochistan CM vows inclusive, people-centered budget

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2026) Chief Minister (CM) Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has pledged to present a balanced and realistic provincial budget that reflects the aspirations of the people and ensures sustainable development across the province.

Chairing a key consultative meeting of the parliamentary committee at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Saturday, Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that all stakeholders would be taken into confidence during the budget-making process. The meeting was attended by parliamentary leaders from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Jamaat-e-Islami, and Awami National Party (ANP).

The session focused on preparations for the 2026–27 provincial budget, with detailed discussions on development priorities and welfare initiatives. Participants shared recommendations on critical sectors, including education, healthcare, clean drinking water, communications, energy, civic services, and basic infrastructure.

Sarfraz Bugti assured the committee that the government is committed to presenting a people-friendly budget aligned with the province’s economic realities. He highlighted that special attention would be given to public welfare, job creation, social sector strengthening, and infrastructure improvement.

“The government’s focus is on projects that directly improve people’s lives and contribute to the province’s economic and social progress,” Sarfraz Bugti added.

He stressed that underdeveloped and remote areas of Balochistan would be integrated into the national development mainstream, with fair resource distribution and balanced regional growth as guiding principles. Transparency, accountability, and quality would remain central to project selection and execution, he added.

Despite limited resources, Sarfraz Bugti said the provincial government is determined to accelerate development and provide maximum relief to citizens. He underscored the importance of collective wisdom, political harmony, and broad consultation in achieving sustainable growth, economic stability, and public prosperity.

The parliamentary leaders welcomed the inclusive approach, praising the government’s decision to involve political parties in the budget process. They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at Balochistan’s progress and the welfare of its people.
