GWADAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, inaugurated the province’s first-ever Women’s Bazaar in Gwadar, a landmark initiative aimed at promoting women’s economic independence and social inclusion.

The ceremony was attended by Governor Balochistan Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Member of Provincial Assembly Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, and Secretary of the Women Development Department Saira Atta.

The bazaar is being hailed as a milestone in empowering local women by providing dignified employment opportunities and fostering their participation in the provincial economy.

Officials briefed that the Gwadar Women’s Bazaar initially comprises 14 shops, where women entrepreneurs are showcasing their skills through diverse business activities.

During his visit, Chief Minister Bugti met with female shopkeepers to hear their concerns, suggestions, and experiences firsthand.

Speaking at the event, Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that empowering women is one of the government’s top priorities. “Projects like the Women’s Bazaar not only strengthen women’s economic independence but also play a vital role in overall economic growth,” he said.

He described the bazaar as an excellent platform for women to highlight their talents and assured that the government would provide all necessary facilities to make the initiative more effective.

Sarfraz Bugti further announced that the scope of such projects would be expanded to other districts of Balochistan to benefit more women. He reiterated that sustainable development is impossible without women’s economic inclusion, and the provincial government is committed to integrating women into the national mainstream through practical measures.

Highlighting the broader impact, Sarfraz Bugti noted that initiatives like the Gwadar Women’s Bazaar will contribute to social and economic stability. “Providing women with business opportunities is a guarantee of a brighter future,” he said, pledging continued government support for women’s development and welfare to ensure Balochistan’s progress and prosperity.
