Bangladeshi delegation honoured with grand musical night at Arts Council Karachi

A high-level 12-member delegation from Bangladesh visited the Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP), Karachi, to participate in a vibrant cultural exchange aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) A high-level 12-member delegation from Bangladesh visited the Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP), Karachi, to participate in a vibrant cultural exchange aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations.

The delegation was warmly received by the President of the Arts Council, Muhammad Ahmed Shah. During an extensive tour of the premises, Shah briefed the guests on the Council's diverse cultural activities and its role in promoting the arts in Pakistan. Dr. Saif-ur-Rehman, Director General of NIPA, also attended the event as a special guest.

To mark the visit, the Arts Council organised a grand cultural night featuring a blend of traditional and contemporary performances. The evening was highlighted by renowned Alghoza player Akbar Khamiso Khan, whose rendition of Sindhi folk music captivated the international guests.

The dance segment featured a diverse repertoire, including a masterful "Bharatanatyam" performance by Mani Chao, Head of the ACP Dance academy. Students of the academy—including Prarthna, Waqas, Vinod, Pulwasha, and Sarah Hanson—energised the audience with a contemporary Pakistani dance routine. The programme further included violin solos and vocal performances of both Pakistani and Bangladeshi music by Esha Tamsil and Cynthia.

The evening concluded with fusion of traditional folk and modern artistic expressions from both countries.
