Bathing in rivers, canals banned in Gujrat

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th May, 2026) The district administration has imposed Section 144 across Gujrat district, banning bathing in rivers, canals and streams to protect human lives.

According to official sources, Rescue 1122 and Punjab Emergency Response Authority (PERA) teams are continuously patrolling along River Chenab, River Jhelum, Upper Jhelum Canal, Saroki and other water channels to prevent accidents and ensure implementation of safety measures.

The district administration appealed to citizens to avoid bathing in canals, rivers and streams, warning that legal action would be taken against violators.

The administration said protection of human life was its top priority and urged the public to strictly follow safety instructions.
