BhUJ calls for protection of journalists’ rights

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd May, 2026) Bahawalpur Union of Journalists (BhUJ) demanded of the government and other stakeholders to

ensure protection of rights of the journalists’ community.

On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, a rally was organized outside the Bahawalpur Press Club premises under the leadership of founding member of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and former president of Bahawalpur Union of Journalists, veteran journalist leader, A Majeed Gill, and sitting President of BhUJ, Muhammad Ameen Abbasi.

A large number of journalists, including the sitting General Secretary of BhUJ, Amjad Mahmood Awan, former General Secretary of BhUJ, Syed Rashid Aziz Hashmi, Member, Federal Executive Committee of PFUJ, Malik Nazar Abbas Ghallo, Mian Asif Kabeer Chishti, Malik Ghulam Muhammad Channar, senior journalist leader, Akram Nasir, former President, Bahawalpur Press Club, Junaid Nazir Naaz, and others participated.

Earlier, a meeting was organized by the Bahawalpur Union of Journalists, attended by a large number of senior journalists, office-bearers, and members.
