SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) The Board of Intermediate and Secondary education (BISE) Sargodha on Wednesday announced a revised procedure for practical examinations for the Matric and Intermediate Annual Examinations 2026, aimed at enhancing transparency and merit-based assessment.
According to a press release issued by Controller of Examinations Dr Mazhar Abbas, the new mechanism was introduced in line with the decisions of the Government of Punjab and the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC).
Under the revised system, practical examiners would only award marks for a student's actual performance, the practical notebook, and oral questions (viva voce) using the "RUBRICS" assessment criteria provided by the board.
The official further clarified that the written answers provided during practical exams would no longer be marked by the examiners on-site; instead, they would be evaluated through a "Central Marking" system, mirroring the procedure used for theory papers.
Implementing the directives of the Chief Minister Punjab Task Force for Examination Reforms, the board would ensure strict monitoring of all examination laboratories across the Sargodha division.
The BISE Sargodha has advised all candidates to prepare diligently for written practical questions and performance tasks.
Furthermore, teachers were instructed to provide comprehensive guidance to students to ensure a smooth examination process.
