ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid in a meeting with the Speaker Balochistan Assembly, Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai discussed measures aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the social protection system in Balochistan.

During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on ensuring the timely disbursement of financial assistance to deserving families and expanding the outreach of BISP across the province. They also exchanged views on improving mechanisms to identify beneficiaries, particularly in underdeveloped and remote areas.

The meeting focused on promoting women’s economic empowerment through targeted initiatives, with an emphasis on increasing support for deserving women. Senator Rubina Khalid reiterated that extending assistance to vulnerable women remained a top priority of the programme.

Both leaders agreed on the need to expand the scope of BISP in Balochistan and stressed the importance of maintaining transparency and merit in the distribution process. They also underscored the need for enhanced coordination between the Federal government and the provincial administration to achieve better outcomes.
