KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid called on the President of Bank Alfalah, Atif Bajwa at Bank Alfalah office here Thursday.

The meeting focused on enhancing the efficiency of the payment system for BISP beneficiaries, as well as exploring avenues to create livelihood opportunities through the Benazir Hunarmand Programme and the Alfa Mall platform.

During the discussion, the option of introducing interoperability in the payment system was considered to enable beneficiary women to choose a bank of their preference. Both sides also agreed on improving convenience for beneficiaries, strengthening transparency, and enhancing the overall quality of services.

The meeting also made detailed discussion on expanding the Benazir Hunarmand Programme. In this regard, it was agreed to leverage the Alfa Mall platform to scale up the initiative, enabling BISP beneficiaries to increase their income through skill-based opportunities.

Other key matters related to facilitating beneficiaries were also reviewed, with consensus on making the payment system more transparent, secure, and accessible.

Director General Cash Transfers BISP, Muhammad Idrees Mian, DG Sindh Sanaullah Rind, and Consultant Naveed Khan were also present during the meeting.
