BISP chairperson, SBP Deputy Governor discuss improving payment system for beneficiaries

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, met with Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Saleemullah, on Wednesday to discuss measures aimed at improving the payment system for BISP beneficiaries.

The meeting focused on enhancing the effectiveness, transparency, and ease of payments. Both sides held detailed discussions on introducing interoperability in the payment mechanism, enabling beneficiary women to choose any bank of their convenience for receiving payments.

Matters related to facilitating beneficiaries were also deliberated upon during the meeting. The participants agreed on further strengthening the payment system to make it more transparent, secure, and accessible.

The State Bank team assured full cooperation with BISP and emphasized that joint efforts would be undertaken to provide improved services to beneficiaries.

Director General Cash Transfers BISP, Muhammad Idrees Mian, and Director General Sindh, Sanaullah Rind, also attended the meeting.
