BNBWU signs historic MoU with District Admin Sukkur

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University (BNBWU), Sukkur has achieved a major milestone by signing a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the District Administration Sukkur under the leadership of its Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Tehmina Mangan.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at the Senate Hall of the university on Friday. The agreement was formally signed by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tehmina Mangan and Deputy Commissioner Sukkur, Nadir Shahzad in the presence of university officials, faculty members, and representatives of the district administration.

This marks the first-ever collaboration between BNBWU and the District Administration Sukkur, aimed at strengthening institutional linkages and promoting socio economic development in the region.

Under the agreement, both institutions will jointly work in key areas including women empowerment, community engagement, student development through internships and practical exposure, policy support, and evidence-based decision making.

The initiative will also focus on bridging the gap between academia and public sector governance.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Tehmina Mangan said that the MoU reflects the university’s commitment to preparing students, especially women, for leadership roles by providing them with practical exposure and opportunities to contribute to society.

Deputy Commissioner Sukkur appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of academic partnerships in addressing local challenges through research, innovation, and youth engagement.

The collaboration is expected to open new avenues for students and contribute towards sustainable development and improved governance in Sukkur.
