Body formed to probe gas pipeline explosion in Haripur

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) Following a tragic incident in Haripur, where a Sui gas pipeline exploded in the Hattar Industrial Estate, the Hazara Commissioner has constituted an inquiry committee to investigate the matter.

The committee has been formed under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Haripur, Waseem Ahmed. It comprises seven members who will thoroughly examine the cause of the explosion and the resulting fire, said an official release.

Members of the committee include the Deputy Commissioner, District Police Officer (DPO), District Emergency Officer (Rescue), Executive Engineer of Sui Gas, Medical Superintendent of DHQ Hospital, Additional Assistant Commissioner, and Assistant Director Industries.

The committee has been tasked with determining the nature of the explosion and identifying those responsible. It has been directed to submit its report to the Hazara Commissioner within 24 hours.

It is worth noting that the gas pipeline explosion claimed the lives of eight people on Thursday night while five others sustained injuries.
