BRA directs property developers to register and comply with sales tax laws

The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) has instructed property developers and promoters across the province to immediately complete their registration with the authority if they have not yet done so, and to fulfill their legal obligations under the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services Act, 2015

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) has instructed property developers and promoters across the province to immediately complete their registration with the authority if they have not yet done so, and to fulfill their legal obligations under the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services Act, 2015.

According to BRA, services involving the conversion of purchased or leased land into residential or commercial plots will be subject to a sales tax of Rs. 100 per square yard. Construction services for residential or commercial units will incur a tax of Rs. 50 per square foot of covered area. The authority clarified that input tax credit or adjustment will not be allowed for this sector.

BRA emphasized that all property developers and promoters must register promptly, file tax returns within the stipulated deadlines, and deposit payable taxes. To facilitate compliance, the authority has digitized the entire process of registration, return filing, and tax payment, making it fully online.

The authority warned that non-compliance with tax laws could result in issuance of notices, fines, attachment of bank accounts, and other legal actions. BRA appealed to all property developers and promoters to ensure full adherence to tax regulations and contribute to the province’s development and prosperity.
