BRA holds awareness session in Hub to strengthen implementation of provincial tax laws

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) organized a comprehensive awareness and orientation session in Hub for officers and officials from various government departments to ensure effective implementation of provincial tax laws.

The session aimed to acquaint public sector institutions with withholding tax rules and regulations, their legal responsibilities, and the requirements for timely compliance.

Tax experts emphasized that designated withholding agents are legally bound to deduct sales tax at the prescribed rate at the time of payment for taxable services, deposit the deducted amount within the stipulated timeframe, and file the relevant returns promptly.

Participants were briefed on practical withholding procedures, common compliance errors, statutory requirements, and potential penalties in cases of non-compliance.

Representatives from different departments actively engaged in the session, raising queries that were comprehensively addressed by BRA officials.

Officials assured participants that the Authority will continue to provide guidance and technical support to facilitate accurate and effective compliance with tax regulations.

According to a BRA spokesperson, such awareness sessions are designed to promote tax compliance within government institutions, enhance transparency, and strengthen the role of public sector bodies in contributing to the province’s financial stability.
