BRA launches enforcement drive to tax unregistered digital businesses

The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) has initiated an enforcement campaign to bring unregistered digital businesses under the provincial tax net. The move is being carried out under the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services (BSTS)

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2026) The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) has initiated an enforcement campaign to bring unregistered digital businesses under the provincial tax net. The move is being carried out under the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services (BSTS) Act and targets digital media platforms, online service providers, content creators, production houses, and other related entities operating without registration or compliance with tax laws.

According to BRA, the campaign is part of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani’s vision to broaden the tax base and document the digital economy.

Officials stated that integrating the digital sector into the tax system will enhance transparency and improve revenue collection.

The Authority has warned that businesses failing to comply will face penalties and other legal actions under the BSTS Act. BRA has directed all digital service providers to immediately complete registration and fulfill their tax obligations to avoid disciplinary measures.
