BRA launches special drive to enforce tax compliance in health sector

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Apr, 2026) Acting on the directives of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Ahmed Nosherwani, the Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) has initiated a special campaign to ensure implementation of the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services Act, 2015 within the health sector, particularly targeting pathological laboratories.

The campaign aims to promote adherence to tax laws, enhance transparency, and strengthen the culture of responsible citizenship. Officials said that the initiative is designed to expand provincial financial resources, thereby improving public welfare and raising the standard of living for citizens.

BRA has intensified actions against institutions evading taxes or failing to meet their obligations. In the first phase, non-compliance has been identified at several facilities.

The authority has directed all laboratory owners and healthcare service providers to immediately complete registration, file timely returns, and ensure tax payments. BRA has warned that violators will face penalties and other legal proceedings under the BSTS Act, 2015.
