QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Feb, 2026) The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) has directed all service providers associated with event management and wedding-related services across the province to immediately register with the authority and comply with applicable tax laws.

The directive was issued under the instructions of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, and with the guidance of Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan.

According to BRA, the order applies to operators of wedding halls, marquees, mandaps, pandals, shamiana providers, floral decorators, event decorators, and other businesses offering services related to ceremonies and events. These businesses must complete registration without delay and submit their Sales Tax on Services (BSTS) returns in accordance with the law.

The applicable BSTS rate has been fixed at Rs10,000 per event or 2 percent of the service fee—whichever is higher. Service providers are required to accurately calculate their tax liabilities and ensure timely payment and filing of returns.

A spokesperson for BRA warned that failure to comply including non-registration or late submission of returns could result in penalties and legal action, potentially disrupting business operations.

The authority emphasized that compliance not only protects businesses from legal complications but also contributes to development projects, public welfare initiatives, and economic stability in Balochistan.

BRA has urged all relevant service providers to avoid tax evasion, complete registration promptly, and submit BSTS returns within the stipulated timeframe.
