Bride stabbed to death at beauty parlour

LODHRAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) A bride was allegedly murdered by her cousin when she arrived at a beauty parlour for bridal makeup, police and rescue officials said.

The suspect, identified as Mudassar Mehboob, reportedly entered the parlour in a fit of anger and held the victim hostage. Police said the woman’s identity has not yet been disclosed. The accused allegedly assaulted her before pulling out a knife and slitting her throat, killing her on the spot.

After the attack, the suspect attempted suicide by stabbing himself in the abdomen.

Parlour staff overpowered him and alerted police.

Police reached the scene and shifted the injured suspect to the District Headquarters Hospital. Due to his critical condition, he was later referred to Bahawalpur Victoria Hospital for further treatment.

Police said the motive behind the killing has not yet been confirmed, but initial suspicion suggests the accused acted out of revenge after the woman married another person.

A case has been registered on the complaint of the victim’s father, Sarfaraz Ali, and investigations are under way.
