ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) The Federal government has allocated Rs40,500 million for the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) and Rs24,483 million for the expansion of the Daanish Schools network in the 2026-27 budget, aiming to boost employment, education, skills development, entrepreneurship and innovation opportunities for young people across the country.
According to details released by the Prime Minister’s Office Youth Affairs Wing, the allocations form part of one of Pakistan’s largest youth focused development initiatives and are intended to strengthen the country’s human capital through targeted investments in education and economic empowerment.
The largest share of the PMYP allocation, Rs22,400 million, has been earmarked for the Prime Minister’s Youth business and Agriculture Loan Scheme to provide affordable financing to young entrepreneurs and farmers seeking to establish businesses and create jobs.
To enhance workforce competitiveness, the government has allocated Rs9,901 million for the Prime Minister’s Youth Skills Development Programme, aimed at equipping young people with market driven skills required for domestic and international employment opportunities.
The budget also includes Rs3,000 million for the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund (PEEF) to support deserving students in pursuing higher education, while another Rs3,000 million has been allocated for the Prime Minister’s IT Startups and Venture Capital initiative to promote innovation and technology based entrepreneurship.
Other allocations under PMYP include Rs700 million for Youth Development Centres, Rs500 million for the Talent Hunt Youth Sports League, Rs400 million for the National Volunteer Corps, Rs300 million for E-Sports Arenas and Training Centres, Rs250 million for the National Innovation Award and Rs50 million for the Green Youth Movement.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Alongside youth focused initiatives, the government has earmarked Rs24,483 million for expanding the Daanish Schools network to improve access to quality education in underserved and remote areas.
The allocation includes Rs1,330 million for a Daanish school in Islamabad Capital Territory, while Rs4,271 million has been set aside for new schools in Gilgit-Baltistan, including projects in Sultanabad Jutal, Shigar, Ghanche, Astore and Skardu.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir has received the largest regional allocation of Rs6,270 million for schools in Harighal-Bagh, Bhimber, Sharda-Neelum and Haveli Kahuta.
Balochistan has been allocated Rs4,149 million for schools in Sibi, Musa Khel, Zhob, Kan Mehtarzai, Barkhan and Dera Bugti. Sindh’s Tando Mohammad Khan will receive Rs1,000 million, while Rs859 million has been earmarked for a Daanish School in Chitral, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. An additional Rs6,604 million has been allocated for multi-provincial coverage to ensure broader educational access in disadvantaged regions.
Officials said the allocations reflect the government’s strategy to harness Pakistan’s demographic dividend by investing simultaneously in education, entrepreneurship, skills development, innovation, sports and youth leadership.
They said empowering young people remains central to the country’s long-term development agenda and that the latest investments would help create greater economic and educational opportunities for future generations.
