ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), in collaboration with Lahore Qalandars and the Shahid Afridi Foundation, on Wednesday announced the “Bunyan-ul-Marsoos Cricket Match” to commemorate the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq and Bunyan-ul-Marsoos.

The event is scheduled on June 3 here at the Lahore Qalandars High Performance Center in Capital Smart City.

The announcement was made during a press conference attended by PMYP Chairman, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi, businessman, Agha Shehraz and representatives of Lahore Qalandars, who said the initiative aimed to honour the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces while promoting patriotism, youth engagement and national harmony through sports and entertainment.

Addressing the press conference, Rana Mashhood said the event would serve as a symbol of Pakistan’s resilience, unity and success, adding that sports remained a powerful tool for constructive youth engagement and national cohesion.

He thanked Agha Shehraz, Lahore Qalandars and the Shahid Afridi Foundation for supporting the initiative and highlighted the success of the Prime Minister Talent Hunt Programme, under which over 300,000 young athletes participated across the country, with several players making their way to the Pakistan Super League.

He announced that the match between “Celebrities XI” and “Prime Minister Youth Programme XI” would start at 6 pm on June 3 and would feature various entertainment activities alongside the cricket fixture.

Speaking on the occasion, Agha Shehraz termed the initiative a meaningful effort to celebrate Marka-e-Haq through sports and entertainment, saying the event reflected patriotism, unity and national pride and would spread positivity among the public.

Shahid Afridi praised Rana Mashhood for involving him in the initiative and stressed that such platforms should also support former athletes and sports personalities facing financial difficulties.

He said efforts should be made to assist deserving cricketers, hockey players and media professionals, adding that sports should not only entertain audiences but also uplift those who had served the country.

Representing Lahore Qalandars, Rana Atif lauded the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme for engaging the franchise in the initiative and appreciated the talent displayed by young participants during the Talent Hunt Programme conducted in 28 cities across Pakistan.

He said the programme reflected the immense potential of Pakistani youth when provided with opportunities and proper guidance.

Concluding the event, Rana Mashhood emphasized the importance of youth empowerment and national unity, while praising Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for steering the country through challenging times.

He said the Bunyan-ul-Marsoos Cricket Match would be more than a sporting event, describing it as a message of unity, patriotism and hope that the project would be a positive image of Pakistan to the world through the participation of celebrities, Lahore Qalandars and the Shahid Afridi Foundation.
