LARKANA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU), Larkana, commemorated the first anniversary of Operation Bunyan um Marsous – Marka-e-Haq on Wednesday with a dignified and well-organized ceremony, reflecting national unity and solidarity with the Pakistan Armed Forces.
The event commenced with an awareness walk led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Nusrat Shah, aimed at promoting collective responsibility and national consciousness. Participants enthusiastically raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pak Armed Forces Zindabad,” reaffirming their unwavering support for the country’s defense institutions.
The walk began from the main auditorium of Chandka Medical College, Larkana, and proceeded through various routes within the campus, concluding at the Professor Bilquis Malik Enclave.
On this occasion, a tree plantation drive was also carried out. The Vice Chancellor, along with Registrar Professor Dr. Fahad Jibran Siyal, Principal Chandka Medical College Professor Dr. Shahid Hussain Soomro, Dr. Mir Hassan Khoso, Vice Principal Dr. Fauzia Chandio, and other faculty members and officers, planted saplings and offered prayers for the peace, prosperity, and integrity of the nation.
Addressing the participants, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nusrat Shah stated that during Operation Bunyan Marsous, the nation stood shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Armed Forces, demonstrating unity and resilience. He emphasized that the people of Pakistan remain steadfast in their commitment to defend the country against any threat.
Principal Professor Dr. Shahid Hussain Soomro remarked that such initiatives play a vital role in fostering awareness, responsibility, and national cohesion among the youth, which are essential for building a strong and progressive society.
Dr. Fauzia Chandio has been appointed as the focal person for the commemorative activities. She announced that a week-long series of events will be organized across all affiliated institutions and colleges of the university, including awareness walks, tree plantation campaigns, speech competitions, and painting contests, to celebrate the historic significance of Operation Bunyan Marsous.
The ceremony witnessed active participation from a large number of faculty members, administrative staff, and students, reflecting a shared spirit of patriotism and unity.
