Business timings, price monitoring to be strictly enforced: commissioner

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) Commissioner Lahore Division Marryam Khan chaired a high-level divisional meeting to review district restructuring proposals, price control mechanisms, beautification initiatives, and ongoing development works across Lahore Division.

Deputy Commissioners of all four districts presented various proposals aimed at improving public service delivery through administrative restructuring. Suggestions were also shared to enhance human resource capacity and professional efficiency within district administrations.

The Commissioner said that restructuring proposals are being considered to ensure timely and quality delivery of services to citizens. She directed deputy commissioners to develop a coordinated framework for agencies and authorities at the district level to improve governance outcomes.

She further instructed that all ongoing development projects at tehsil level must be completed within defined timelines and quality standards in line with the Chief Minister Punjab’s vision, adding that revenue services and municipal service delivery both hold equal importance.

Reiterating the government’s stance, the Commissioner said business timings will be strictly enforced as per Punjab government instructions. She directed assistant commissioners, Price Control Magistrates and field enforcement teams, including relevant monitoring forces, to remain active in the field to ensure stable prices of essential commodities. She warned that no leniency would be shown against profiteering and strict action would continue against violators.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ijaz, Additional Commissioner Hamid Mahmood Malhi, DC Sheikhupura Shahid Imran Marth, DC Nankana Rao Tasleem Akhtar, DC Kasur Asif Raza, ACG Wajiha Samreen and other senior officers.
