QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Jul, 2026) Secretary Communications and Works (C&W) Balochistan, Babar Khan, has reaffirmed that the department’s foremost priority for the fiscal year 2026–27 is to complete all development projects within the stipulated timelines, ensuring full transparency, financial discipline, and adherence to government policy, so that citizens receive timely and quality facilities.
He expressed these views while presiding over a review meeting on the annual performance report of fiscal year 2025–26 and planning for the new fiscal year. The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary Abbas Khosa, Deputy Secretary Zahid Shahwani, Technical Advisor Ehsanullah Khan Dotani, and other officials.
The session reviewed the overall performance of the previous year, ongoing development schemes, financial discipline, tendering processes, PC-I preparation, DAC and DSC approvals, and recruitment matters. It also outlined tasks for the new fiscal year.
Secretary Babar Khan emphasized that under the vision of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and guidance of Provincial Minister for Communications and Works Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa, the department will play a vital role in the province’s development and prosperity by modernizing infrastructure.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He directed that all projects declared complete by June 30 must be fully finalized without delay, and even minor pending work should be finished immediately.
He strictly prohibited advance payments, stressed timely surrender of unused funds, and instructed that all PC-I documents be prepared promptly, DAC and DSC meetings be held regularly, DSC approvals be finalized by July 15, and tendering minutes and other approvals be completed by July 31.
It was clarified that development funds will only be released in accordance with rules and regulations, and allocations for major projects such as A-One Roads will be issued collectively after formal approval. Projects showing discrepancies between financial and physical progress will be closely monitored.
Babar Khan also directed that recruitment processes must remain transparent, appointments should strictly follow approved positions, and judicial orders and rules must be fully observed. He concluded by stressing that the C&W Department has a pivotal role in modernizing the province’s infrastructure, and with dedication and hard work, no obstacle can prevent Balochistan’s progress and prosperity.
