C&W Department shows commitment to energy conservation on Earth Hour

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Mar, 2026) On the occasion of Earth Hour, the Communications and Works (C&W) Department actively participated in the global environmental initiative following the directions of Provincial Minister for Communications and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth.

In line with the observance, unnecessary lights at all C&W offices and project sites were switched off for one hour from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, reflecting a practical demonstration of commitment to energy conservation and environmental responsibility.

Punjab Minister for C&W Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth said that the purpose of Earth Hour is not only to promote energy efficiency but also to raise awareness about environmental protection and climate responsibility. He stated that the initiative sends a strong message regarding the collective duty to safeguard the planet and ensure a clean and healthy environment for future generations.

He further emphasized that, in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, energy conservation and environmental sustainability remain among the government’s top priorities. The provincial government, he added, is taking concrete and result-oriented steps to address environmental challenges while also enhancing public awareness so that every citizen can contribute effectively to this national responsibility.

The minister appreciated the proactive role of the C&W Department in observing Earth Hour in a meaningful and disciplined manner, terming it a reflection of institutional commitment towards sustainable development and responsible governance.
