C&W minister orders strict measures to control dust at construction sites

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) Punjab Minister for Communication and Works (C&W) Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth on Sunday issued immediate directives to field officers to ensure effective dust control on under-construction roads, stressing that environmental protection and public convenience must be prioritized during development activities.

He directed that in Lahore Division as well as across the province, regular and mandatory water sprinkling be carried out at construction sites to minimize dust and protect the public from environmental pollution.

The minister instructed all Executive Engineers to ensure their active presence in the field and maintain strict monitoring of ongoing development projects to guarantee compliance with the directives.

Emphasizing safety, Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth said that comprehensive safety arrangements must be ensured at all construction sites to prevent any untoward incidents. He reiterated his commitment to maintaining strict dust control measures and safeguarding public health.

He warned that strict action would be taken against officials failing to comply with the instructions, adding that effective monitoring of water sprinkling must be ensured in all development projects without exception.
