BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) Provincial Woman Ombudsperson Dr. Najma Afzal Khan has stressed the need to implement concerned law in letter and spirit to control harassment against women at work place.
According to an official press release issued here, Dr. Najma said that effective implementation of the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act would ensure protection for women against workplace harassment. She stated that under this law, affected women can even submit their complaints on plain paper, after which regular hearings are conducted and both minor and major punishments can be awarded according to the law.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>She said this during her visit to Bahawalpur while presiding over a meeting here. She said that more than 1,400 cases have so far been reported to the office of the Provincial Woman Ombudsperson, out of which decisions have been made in 1,306 cases. She added that complaints received since the establishment of the institution are being resolved on a priority basis to provide immediate and effective justice to affected women.
