Camp court approved for Topi

SWABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Apr, 2026) District and Sessions Judge Ashfaq Taj has approved establishment of a camp court in Topi due to the increasing number of pending cases and also sanctioned the appointment of a Senior Additional Sessions Judge for the tehsil.

He also handed over equipment worth Rs8 million including chiller air conditioners, furniture and other facilities to the Bar Association in a ceremony that was held at the District Bar Room Hall in Swabi. The ceremony was also attended by Senior Civil Judge (Admin) Sardar Jawad Ahmad, President District Bar Association Tayab Zaman Advocate, General Secretary Safdar Zeb Advocate and lawyers.

He said that due to the unavailability of funds in the relevant head, the budget was re appropriated with the approval of High Court and transferred to the bar. To ensure transparency, a committee headed by Iftikhar Elahi was formed, which completed the procurement process through open competition.

He told that acquisition of land for a judicial complex in Topi is under consideration in Annual Development Program to construct a modern court facility in the future. He added that the PC-I for establishing four new courts in Razar has also been approved.
