MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Apr, 2026) A district-wide campaign to enroll over 44,000 children in schools was launched in Multan as Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nauman Siddique inaugurated the drive at Government Comprehensive Girls High School and distributed free textbooks among the students.
Deputy Secretary Admin South Punjab Dr Safdar Wahga was also present at the ceremony, attended by a large number of teachers, students and parents.
Addressing the gathering, the deputy commissioner said the enrollment campaign was being implemented in line with Punjab government directives to bring more than 44,000 out-of-school children into classrooms.
He reiterated that education was a fundamental right of every child and said the district administration was utilizing all available resources to ensure access to education.
He added that free school bags and textbooks were being provided with the support of UNICEF and the private sector to reduce the financial burden on parents and encourage maximum enrollment.
The deputy commissioner urged teachers to conduct door-to-door awareness campaigns and appealed to parents to ensure their children receive education to help build a literate society.
