LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jun, 2026) Crime Control Department (CCD) Punjab has reiterated its commitment to transparency,
accountability and the rule of law in the investigation into the death of 10-year-old Hania
during an anti-robbery operation in Lahore, saying the officer responsible has been
arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
According to a CCD spokesperson, the officer was immediately suspended and taken
into custody following the incident. An FIR was registered on the complaint of victim’s
father, while forensic evidence, including the officer’s weapon and spent cartridges,
was secured as part of the investigation. The department is also maintaining regular
contact with the affected family and providing updates on the progress of the case.
The spokesperson said the incident occurred on the night of June 10 when CCD personnel
responded to an armed robbery in progress.

vehicle and were holding its occupants at gunpoint when officers reached the scene.
During the operation, the suspects opened fire on a CCD officer, triggering an exchange
of gunfire. In the ensuing confrontation, the officer mistakenly believed the suspects
were attempting to flee in the victims’ vehicle and opened fire, resulting in the death
of Hania and injuries to her father and brother.
Expressing deep sorrow over the tragedy, the CCD extended condolences to the
bereaved family and termed the officer’s actions a serious violation of departmental
SOPs and legal standards governing the use of force.
The spokesperson said a thorough and impartial investigation was underway to ensure
justice and stressed that there could be no justification for any departure from established
operational protocols.
