Chief Minister directs maximum relief for people during Ramazan

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Tuesday chaired a high level meeting to review preparations for Ramazan and directed authorities to ensure maximum relief to the public during the holy month.

The chief minister instructed that essential food items must be made available at officially notified rates and effective price control mechanisms should be enforced.

He said inflation during Ramazan was unbearable and warned that strict action would be taken without discrimination against hoarders and those involved in artificial price hikes.

He directed that Ehsaas Ramazan Dastarkhwan be established in all districts and at entry points across the province while quality Sehri and Iftar meals be provided at orphanages Darul Aman and shelter homes.

Under the Ehsaas Ramazan Package the chief minister ordered that payment of Rs 12500 to deserving families be completed by the eighth fast with priority given to orphans widows the poor and persons with disabilities.

He further directed that availability of medicines and doctors in all government hospitals be ensured during Ramazan so that patients do not face difficulties while fasting.

The chief minister said he would personally monitor all Ramazan arrangements and no negligence in public relief would be tolerated.
