PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shohab Ali Shah, on Wednesday chaired the Seventh District Service Delivery conference aimed at improving public service delivery across the province.

The meeting was informed that since the first conference, significant improvements have been recorded in various service delivery indicators, with 86 percent of the targets under District Service Delivery 1.0 achieved.

Notable performance gains were observed in Battagram, Upper Kohistan, South Waziristan Upper, and Upper Chitral. Deputy Commissioners of Battagram and Dera Ismail Khan briefed participants on key measures taken to enhance performance, enabling other districts to benefit from their experiences.

The conference noted improvements in drains, pedestrian pathways, vegetable markets, slaughterhouses, general bus stands, cattle markets, farm service centers, and parks. Under District Service Delivery 2.0, monitoring of manholes and waste collection systems has also been included.

In response to public complaints, action has been taken against waste burning, with authorities directed to

ensure environmental protection and implement proper waste disposal mechanisms in accordance with the law.

The Abbottabad Service Delivery Center showed outstanding performance, while further improvement directives were issued for Shangla and Upper Chitral. Performance of tehsil offices in Nowshera also improved.

Participants were informed that 284 waste collection points have been monitored and data of over 1,500 manholes collected. The provincial government is developing a digital system for manhole monitoring.

All Deputy Commissioners ensured visits to at least 32 public service facilities in their respective districts.

The meeting further noted that 233 schools in 18 districts have been outsourced and are being regularly monitored. Deputy Commissioners were also directly engaging with citizens to address public complaints.

Approval has been granted for 79 beautification projects across 29 districts to be completed by June 30, while 42 new initiatives in 22 districts would be expected to be completed by June this year.
