Chief secretary stresses land record digitization reforms

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, on Thursday said that, on the directives of the Chief Minister, significant improvements are being introduced in service delivery and governance through ongoing reforms in the board of Revenue.

Chairing a meeting, he said efforts are underway to enhance institutional capacity to accelerate the digitization of land records, while resources are also being provided to Deputy Commissioners for digitizing old records.

He added that district administrations have been directed to scan and securely preserve historical documents.

The Chief Secretary said that all digitization initiatives in the Board of Revenue would be completed by the end of 2027 to ensure improved public service delivery.

He further informed that mobile units are being introduced to provide land record services at the doorstep of citizens, particularly facilitating elderly people and women. To promote transparency, the digital land record system will also be integrated with NADRA.
