Chinese delegation visits UAF

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jul, 2026) A three-member Chinese delegation from the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers, Chinese academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), Beijing, has visited the Institute of Horticultural Sciences (IHS), University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) to explore opportunities for academic and research collaboration and the exchange of advanced technologies in vegetable germplasm and horticultural sciences.

The delegation included Dr Haiping Wang, Dr Xiaohui Zhang and Dr Jiangping Song, called on IHS Director Dr Ahmad Sattar, Chairman Horticulture Ghazi University Dr Zajoor Hussain, IHS Faculty members Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, Dr Muhammad Usman, Dr Raheel Anwar, Dr Rashad Waseem, Dr Bilquees Fatima, Dr Muhammad Muzamil Jahangir, Dr Irfan Ashraf, Dr Karim Yar Abbsai, and other notables.

The meeting discussed researchers on strengthening bilateral cooperation in sustainable vegetable production, post harvest practices, export and quality control floriculture, climate-resilient crops, germplasm conservation and scientific innovation.

Dr Ahmad Sattar said that collaboration with internationally renowned institutions enhances research excellence, technology transfer and innovation.

He said that joint projects and faculty exchanges would help address emerging agricultural challenges and contribute to food security.

He said that the IHS was actively engaged in different projects of post-harvest, floriculture, fruit and vegetables to address the food security challenges for a better tomorrow.

The Chinese delegation discussed the areas of collaboration to get benefit from each other experiences, address the common challenge and increase the productivity.
