CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jun, 2026) The district administration on Wednesday launched a major operation against illegal industrial units operating in residential areas, demolishing an unauthorized leather factory and a hide warehouse as part of efforts to curb environmental pollution and safeguard public health.
According to official sources, the action was carried out by the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan. During the operation, authorities demolished an illegally established leather processing factory located within a residential neighborhood. A hide storage warehouse operating amid a populated locality was also razed.
Officials stated that both facilities had been causing environmental pollution, foul odors, and inconvenience to nearby residents.

They thanked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the district administration, and the Environment Department for addressing longstanding environmental concerns. Citizens said the action would help reduce pollution and improve living conditions by eliminating persistent odor and sanitation issues in the area.
