Chiniot administration engages traders, warns of strict action on price violations

CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Wasiq Abbas Haral on Wednesday chaired a key meeting with representatives of the Poultry Association and Meat Association, including wholesale dealers and retailers, to address price fixation and related concerns.

Moreover, officials from the Livestock Department, Para Force, and other stakeholders attended the session, as the administration actively sought to ensure a balanced and transparent pricing mechanism ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Meanwhile, the Additional Deputy Commissioner attentively listened to the concerns and proposals of all participants, while directing relevant departments to promptly resolve the issues highlighted by traders. The dialogue reflected a constructive approach aimed at fostering cooperation between the administration and market stakeholders.

Furthermore, Wasiq Abbas Haral clearly stated that while no individual would be subjected to undue harassment, any violation of official price regulations would invite strict and immediate action. He emphasized a zero-tolerance policy against profiteering, ensuring that consumers are protected during the festive period.

Consequently, specific instructions were issued to officers of the Livestock Department and Para Force, including In-charge Muzammil Hussain, to enforce regulations effectively and maintain market discipline. The administration reiterated its commitment to ensuring fair pricing and a stable supply of essential commodities for the public.
