Chiniot administration intensifies safety measures to prevent fire pit accidents

CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) The Local Government and Community Development Department in Chiniot has accelerated proactive safety measures under the leadership of Assistant Director Local Government, Muhammad Basit Khachi, aimed at safeguarding residents from potential hazards posed by open fire pits in rural areas.

Officials said a systematic cordon-off campaign is being carried out around exposed fire pits, with more than 25 such sites already secured across various villages.

Highlighting public responsibility, while exclusively talking to APP on Tuesday, Khachi urged citizens to remain vigilant and strictly prevent children from approaching these ?????ous spots, warning that even minor negligence could result in serious consequences.

He stressed the importance of parental supervision to minimize risks.

The district administration has appealed for full public cooperation in adhering to safety guidelines, reaffirming its commitment—under the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif—to protect lives and deliver timely civic services while preventing any untoward incidents.
