Chiniot administration reviews Muharram security arrangements

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan and District Police Officer Dr. Naveed Atif on Wednesday visited various areas of Chiniot to review security and administrative arrangements ahead of Muharram processions and gatherings.

During the visit, the officers inspected the Imambargah of the refugees and examined arrangements related to security, traffic management and other facilities. SP Investigation Muhammad Usman Malik, DSP Circle City Muhammad Shoaib Khan, police officials and representatives of allied departments also accompanied them.

The administration held meetings with organizers of Majalis and processions, discussing security measures and arrangements for mourning gatherings.

The officers also inspected routes of Taazia processions, including Rahim Gali, Shaheed Chowk and Maidan Tarkhanan, and reviewed sensitive points along the routes as well as the functioning of the control room.

Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan and DPO Dr. Naveed Atif directed all concerned departments to complete preparations on time and ensure coordinated efforts during Muharram-ul-Haram. They said all available resources would be utilized to maintain law and order and provide strict security for mourners participating in processions and religious gatherings.
