CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2026) Authorities in Chiniot have put in place extensive security measures for the observance of the seventh day of Muharram, with more than 800 police officers and personnel deployed across the district to safeguard religious gatherings and processions.
According to a police spokesperson, a total of 31 processions and 72 majalis are being held throughout the district. Acting on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Naveed Atif, police have implemented comprehensive security arrangements for all events, while supervisory officers remain in the field to monitor and oversee operations.
Security officials said processions and gatherings are being continuously monitored through CCTV cameras and a central control room.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Walk-through gates have been installed along the routes of key processions, while additional personnel from the Elite Force have been deployed to strengthen security and crowd-management efforts.
DPO Dr. Naveed Atif , while exclusively talking to APP, said a four-tier security framework has been established for all majalis and processions, with strict enforcement of the government’s Muharram code of conduct. He emphasized that all available resources are being utilized to maintain law and order and ensure the peaceful observance of Muharram across the district.
