FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jun, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen assured full administrative support for the promotion and modernization of the Chiniot furniture industry, emphasizing that strengthening furniture sector would help showcase Pakistan’s craftsmanship at the international level and create new economic opportunities for artisans and exporters.
She made this assurance during a meeting with Mian Muhammad Kashif Ashfaq, Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Furniture Council, at her office and discussed various measures to modernize the furniture manufacturing sector, promote indigenous craftsmanship and expand its access to global markets.
During meeting, Mian Kashif Ashfaq briefed the divisional commissioner about the council’s ongoing efforts to upgrade the furniture industry through innovation, improved designs, modern production techniques and enhanced marketing strategies. He highlighted the immense potential of the renowned Chiniot furniture sector and presented a number of proposals aimed at its uplift and sustainable development. He said that Chiniot furniture industry enjoys a unique reputation for quality woodwork and intricate craftsmanship, adding that coordinated efforts by public and private stakeholders could significantly enhance its competitiveness in international markets.

Madam Musarrat Jabeen assured the Pakistan Furniture Council of every possible cooperation from the divisional administration to help further develop the Chiniot furniture industry and strengthen its contribution to economic activity, employment generation and exports.
She also revealed that the divisional administration is planning to organize a furniture exhibition of international standards in Faisalabad and said that Pakistan Furniture Council would be taken on board as a key partner for the event.
The commissioner expressed confidence that such exhibitions would provide an effective platform for local manufacturers, craftsmen and entrepreneurs to showcase their products, attract investment and establish business linkages with national and international buyers.
Both sides agreed to continue close coordination for promoting the furniture sector and exploring new avenues to enhance the global visibility of Pakistan’s traditional craftsmanship and furniture products.
