Chiniot launches Eid cleanliness drive, citizens urged to support waste disposal campaign

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) The district administration in Chiniot on Monday launched an Eid-ul-Adha cleanliness awareness campaign aimed at ensuring proper disposal of animal waste and maintaining sanitation during the festive days, with Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan and DPO Dr. Naveed Atif actively participating in the initiative.

According to officials, the deputy commissioner and district police officer visited the “Suthra Punjab” awareness camp established on Main Jhang Road along with MD Suthra Punjab Wasiq Abbas Haral. During the visit, awareness pamphlets highlighting cleanliness measures and safe waste disposal practices were distributed among citizens, while eco-friendly waste collection bags were also provided.

Speaking on the occasion, MD Suthra Punjab Wasiq Abbas Haral said comprehensive cleanliness arrangements had been finalized for Eid-ul-Adha, adding that sanitation teams would remain operational throughout the holidays to ensure timely disposal of waste and offal.

Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan and DPO Dr. Naveed Atif urged residents to cooperate fully with the district administration by placing waste in designated bags and disposing of it only at specified collection points. They emphasized that maintaining cleanliness during Eid was a shared civic responsibility and called on citizens to support the ongoing urban sanitation campaign to help maintain a clean and healthy environment throughout the festive period.
