Chiniot Police arrest 36 suspects in 24-hour crackdown, fine traffic violators

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jul, 2026) Chiniot Police arrested 36 suspects during a district-wide crackdown on criminal activities over the past 24 hours, intensifying efforts to maintain law and order, officials said on Wednesday.

According to police, 27 proclaimed offenders and other wanted suspects were taken into custody during targeted operations. In separate actions, nine individuals were arrested on charges related to illegal gas refilling, overspeeding, reckless driving and other traffic-related violations.

Police also carried out extensive checking through the Police Post mobile application, screening 407 suspicious individuals and 409 suspicious vehicles as part of ongoing security measures across the district.

Meanwhile, traffic police issued challans to more than 300 vehicles for violating traffic regulations and imposed fines exceeding Rs500,000, reaffirming their commitment to enforcing road safety laws and curbing traffic violations.
