Chiniot Police arrest 53 suspects in 24-hour crackdown on crime

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jun, 2026) Chiniot Police arrested 53 suspects during the past 24 hours as part of an intensified campaign against criminal elements, officials said on Monday.

According to police, 24 proclaimed offenders were taken into custody during targeted operations aimed at apprehending wanted suspects involved in various criminal cases. In a separate drive, 22 court absconders were also arrested and brought before the law.

Police further arrested seven individuals on charges related to illegal possession of weapons, electricity theft, overspeeding, reckless driving and other violations.

Authorities said the operations were carried out across different parts of the district to improve public safety and maintain law and order.

Meanwhile, extensive checking was conducted through the Police Post App, during which 545 suspicious individuals and 669 suspicious vehicles were screened. Traffic police also issued challans to more than 200 motorists for violating traffic regulations and imposed fines exceeding Rs300,000.
