Chiniot police arrest five drug peddlers, seize hashish and liquor in ongoing crackdown

CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Chiniot police have intensified operations against drug dealers, resulting in the arrest of five suspects during targeted raids in different areas of the district.

According to police officials, SHO City Police Station Sub-Inspector Mudassar Shahbaz, along with his team on Thursday conducted the operations and recovered 1,220 grams of hashish and over 100 liters of alcohol from the possession of the accused.

Cases have been registered against the arrested individuals under relevant narcotics laws at City Police Station, while further investigations are underway to uncover wider networks involved in drug trafficking.

District Police Officer Dr. Naveed Atif said that strict and practical measures are being taken to protect future generations from the menace of drugs. He emphasized that a district-wide campaign is ongoing to eliminate narcotics, urging the public to cooperate with law enforcement and report drug-related activities to help ensure a drug-free society.
