CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jun, 2026) In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to ensure the protection and empowerment of women, Chiniot Police on Wednesday organized an awareness seminar for female students at Government Islamia College to educate them about their rights, legal safeguards, and available support mechanisms against harassment and violence.
The seminar was arranged under the auspices of Chiniot Police with the objective of promoting a sense of security among women and increasing awareness about legal protections. Sub-Inspector Shumaila, In-charge of the Anti-Women Harassment and Violence Cell, delivered a comprehensive briefing on the “Never Again” campaign and informed participants about legal remedies, protection measures, and support services available to victims of harassment and abuse.
During the session, female students were provided detailed information about the Women Safety App, the Anti-Women Harassment and Violence Cell, and various police services designed to assist women.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The participants were also educated about different forms of harassment, including cyber harassment and online abuse, as well as complaint mechanisms and legal forums available for seeking justice.
Police officials assured the students that law enforcement agencies remain available round the clock to provide protection and immediate assistance to women.
In his message, District Police Officer (DPO) Chiniot Dr. Naveed Atif reaffirmed the department’s commitment to preventing domestic violence, harassment, and abuse against women. He stated that all available resources were being utilized to ensure women's safety and urged victims of harassment or violence to approach the Anti-Women Harassment Cell or their nearest police station without hesitation, assuring them of prompt support and legal assistance.
