CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) Chiniot Police organized an open court at Jamia Masjid Sardar Iqbal on April 24 to promote community policing in line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision.
SP Investigation Muhammad Usman said that listening to people’s problems in the mosque is the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and the initiative aims to reach citizens directly and resolve issues on a priority basis.
The City Police Station staff, In-charge of the Complaint Cell, and other concerned officers attended the open court. SP listened to citizens’ problems in detail and issued on-the-spot orders for their resolution, assuring immediate redressal of grievances.
Participants were also briefed on people-friendly services provided by the police and measures to improve public service delivery.
SP Usman urged citizens to timely inform police about social and moral evils and criminal elements so effective action can be taken. The move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen trust and cooperation between police and the public.
Local residents appreciated the initiative of holding open courts in mosques, calling it an effective means of reducing the distance between the people and the police.
