Chiniot tightens petroleum monitoring ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr

CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) In a proactive move to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply during Eid-ul-Fitr, a meeting of the District Petroleum Monitoring Committee was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan. Moreover, the administration directed that all petrol pumps across the district be closely monitored to prevent any disruption, ensuring a smooth and reliable supply of petroleum products to the public.

Meanwhile, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Wasiq Abbas Haral, Assistant Commissioners, DO Industries Danish Tahir, representatives from Civil Defense, SDO Para Muzammil, and other officials. The Deputy Commissioner clearly instructed that 24-hour monitoring of fuel stock at all petrol pumps must be ensured, while emphasizing that any artificial shortage would be dealt with strictly.

Furthermore, officials were directed to ensure the sale of petrol at government-fixed prices in all cases, with immediate action against violators. The Deputy Commissioner also ordered comprehensive checking of vehicles transporting fuel supplies and the maintenance of accurate records to enhance transparency and accountability.

Consequently, the administration reiterated its commitment to continuous monitoring of petroleum supply, demand, and reserves in line with the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and the Chief Secretary Punjab. Authorities affirmed that these decisive measures would effectively safeguard public interests and ensure that citizens face no inconvenience during the festive period.
