CIED goes digital, regional offices ordered to switch to e-office by May 28

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th May, 2026) Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances (CIED) has announced complete transition of all its regional offices to a digital e-office system.

According to a statement issued by CIED Secretary Zafar Iqbal on Wednesday, notification of directive has already been dispatched to provincial government.

The initiative, driven by Federal government directives, aims to streamline administrative workflows, boost overall efficiency, and accelerate communication across CIED network.

The nationwide rollout follows successful digital migration of central CIED headquarters in Islamabad, which was completed with technical support of Information Technology board.

The automation process is now expanding across country to encompass all regional hubs, specifically targeting local offices in Karachi, Lahore, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.

To ensure a swift transition, Commission has directed all relevant provincial and local offices to fully activate e-office system by May 28. Officials emphasize that moving away from traditional paperwork to a centralized digital ecosystem will not only make daily operations faster but will also provide a far more secure environment for handling sensitive official documents and communication.
