Rain began after 'Maghrib' prayer with hailing, citizens said, adding that the ice balls they witnessed were smaller in size. Hailing stopped but rain continued till the Isha prayers.

Spokesman for Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) said in a statement that MD Wasa Faisal Shaukat along with Deputy Managing Director Engineering Zeeshan Shaukat Gondal visited various disposal stations and different places and supervised water draining operations.

The MD Wasa said that all available resources were being utilized to ensure swift drainage of rainwater from roads and low-lying areas. He instructed all officers and staff to remain alert in view of the forecast of more rain and to ensure immediate resolution of complaints related to drainage in their respective areas.

Wasa Multan stated that all available resources had been mobilized to provide relief to citizens, maintain smooth traffic flow and ensure quick disposal of rainwater, while the situation was being continuously monitored.
