SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th May, 2026) The district administration on Wednesday launched a comprehensive cleanliness operation across Sargodha on the first day of Eid-ul-Azha to ensure the safe disposal of animal waste and offal.
According to official sources,the operation was launched on the directives of Deputy Commissioner(DC),Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry with sanitation teams mobilized across the district.
More than 5,500 sanitary workers and over 1,000 machines were participating in the Eid cleaning drive.
A special control room and complaint cell have been made operational round the clock for the immediate removal of garbage while teams have also been deployed to address complaints received through the Punjab Authority Helpline 1139. Authorities said the process of transporting waste to designated collection points in urban areas was under way.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Sources said around 350,000 biodegradable bags had been distributed among citizens on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, while nearly 8,500 tonnes of garbage and waste would be disposed of during the three days of Eid.
In line with the directives of Punjab Chief Minister(CM),Maryam Nawaz Sharif strict action will be taken against individuals found dumping waste into canals,waterways and open spaces.
Section-144 has also been imposed across the district, with a ban on burning animal remains and related waste material.
Authorities further said that flying drones and other prohibited activities had been banned in sensitive areas,including around PAF Base Mushaf.
The district administration appealed to citizens to cooperate with civic authorities in making the “Clean Sargodha” campaign a success.
