HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Apr, 2026) The Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved allocation of 22 acres of land for construction of a 6 million gallons per day water filtration plant in Misri Shaikh area to enhance supply of filtered water in Hyderabad.
According to a press statement issued here on Sunday by Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC), the approval was given at a CM chaired meeting against a proposal submitted by Mayor HMC Kashif Ali Shoro.
The statement said the plant was part of the Mayor's vision to improve water availability in the city.
The statement added that a 6 MGD plant had been built in Hussainabad while work was progressing on 10 MGD Ghangramori, 6 MGD Khanpota and 6MGD Latifabad unit number 4 plants.
The HMC expressed hope that the water supply situation would improve in Hyderabad with the support of the provincial government and due to efforts of the Hyderabad Water and Sewerage Corporation (HW&SC).
