CM Bugti pledges sustainable health sector reforms in Balochistan

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jul, 2026) Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to introducing sustainable and effective reforms in the health sector through consultation with all stakeholders.

The announcement came during a meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat with a representative delegation of doctors’ organizations.

The delegation briefed the Chief Minister on challenges facing the health sector, professional issues confronting doctors, and proposals for improving medical facilities. Provincial Health Minister Bakh Muhammad Kakar and Health Secretary Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Panizai also attended the meeting.

The delegation included Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Quetta President Dr. Nadir Achakzai, Senior Vice President Dr. Kamyar Khan, General Secretary Dr. Shoaib Baloch, Young Doctors Association representatives Dr. Hafeez Mandokhail, Dr. Ali Jan, Dr. Adil, Dr. Muzammil, and Allied Health Organization’s Jamal Shah.

Speaking to the delegation, CM Bugti said the provincial government is taking serious steps to resolve health sector challenges and ensure better facilities for doctors, medical staff, and the public.

He noted that for the first time in Balochistan’s history, doctors have been promoted on a large scale, recognizing their professional services.

He assured that the government is aware of doctors’ legitimate concerns and will extend full cooperation to address them.

Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that doctors are a highly respected segment of society, entrusted with the responsibility of saving lives.

He urged them not to engage in any activity that could cause hardship for poor and needy patients, stressing that timely and quality healthcare remains the government’s foremost priority. He added that the government and medical community will work together through mutual trust, cooperation, and continuous consultation to make the health sector more effective, transparent, and people-friendly.

The delegation expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for listening to their concerns, continuing the consultative process, and assuring positive progress on their legitimate demands.
